Grade 12.9 Steel Hex pack of 6 at £2.75, 12 at £3.25, 18 at £3.75, 30 at £4.50 and 50 at just £5.95! All First Class Free Post!
For securing rotor to 6 bolt disc hub. Pack of 6 to 50 available.
Two options in material: grade A2 stainless steel with 12mm or 16mm threaded section. Large Torx head (T25 fitting) for excellent tool location and easy removal.
Or highest grade 12.9 high-tensile self-colour steel for ultimate strength with hex (allen key) head with 12mm, 16mm or 20mm threaded section.
Please note: self colour bolts are not treated or painted and corrosion can occur. Use a smear of grease or lube on bolt heads to prevent this.
Which to choose? SS Torx bolts have become more common and have the advantage of not corroding. They also use a Torx fitting if you prefer to use this and have a low profile head. On the other hand the Grade 12.9 steel are ultimately stronger and although they may suffer some surface corrosion the deep hex head offers more grip for the common allen key & there are no potential 'galling' or seizing issues in aluminium hubs.
Choose 12mm length for regular disc brake mounting. Longer lengths for custom applications/using disc rotor spacers etc.
Note: we do not supply 'thread locked' bolts - the customer has the choice of using thread lock or grease. We always prefer to assemble with grease & check bolt tightness regularly. This will also prevent potential 'galling'
corrosion) if you do use stainless steel bolts in an aluminium hub. However, disc brake manufacturers may recommend 'Loctiting' bolts when fitting.
VERY IMPORTANT! As with any safety related bicycle parts (ie brakes, hubs, wheels, forks) bolts *must* be fitted by a competent cycle mechanic. Please check the complete installation carefully before riding to ensure everything is installed correctly with no interference issues. If in any doubt please message us and we will be happy to advise. IMPORTANT: this sale is for one chosen number of bolts as above. Other parts
wheels, axles, hubs etc) are shown for illustrative purposes only & are NOT included!
Please see our other listings for numerous Boost spacer kits, singlespeed spacers, cogs, lockrings, 'top-up' SS kits & Hollowtech/Splined/Square Taper BB & screw-on cog spacer kits.
