Q: How long do you replace worn out chains? A: Usually, if the growth rate exceeds 1%, replace it.
Q: Under what circumstances does the wear on the chain increase? A: When I stepped on the bicycle, I put too much pressure on it, so the chain is skewed. Too much oil and mud on the chain will increase the wear on the missing link, increase the holes in the missing link, increase the elongation, and reduce the life of the chain.
Q: What precautions do you take when installing the chain? A: The new generation of chains is riveted, and when inclined, the sides of the missing link are enlarged to increase the rotational force. These chains can not be assembled directly and use special connecting pins or missing links when mounting. The old chain is flat on both sides, using a professional chain cutter, and when mounting, it can be aimed at the hole and punched smoothly. Then, apply a slight diagonal force and check if the rotation of the chain is smooth.
Q: Can chains with different speeds be used? A: Theoretically, the chain is shared downward, but the widths of 8, 9, and 10-speed chains are different, and moreover, the gaps of the transmission gears are different, and the 9-speed chain is used for the 8th gear. Although you can, the meshing may cause gaps, making it impossible to shift smoothly, or noise. Therefore, it is recommended not to use (current technology, 6 speed, 7 speed, 8 speed are designed at the same speed level, and this 3 speed can use a chain of the same size.)
Q: When do you check the chain? A: Check the chain when the chain can not rotate for lubrication and the shift speed decreases.
Q: How do you inspect the chain?
A: 1, chain gauge
2. Adjust the chain to the outer ring of the front ring and pull the chain. If the pulled chain is loose or worn away on the front ring, the chain or front ring must be replaced.
Q: How long do you check the chain? A: I ran 500 km on a flat road. 2, traveled 150 km on bumpy road.
Please note: The working life of the chain depends on the running strength and maintenance method, please avoid extreme shifting while driving.
