Please understand that I am not a marble dealer or appraiser, and the
following information is provided to assist the buyer, but is subject to the
normal dilemma presented by all unmarked, antique objects. In other words, I
may be wrong.
Provenance: I purchased this and several other marbles many years ago in a small town a few miles from the former (blankety-blank blank) Company in Ohio.
Ebay has indicated I can no longer utilize the actual brand name of the company as the representative who contacted me was allergic to spelling and did not understand that I was selling my marble collection, and not promoting the religion with a similar-sounding name.]
Anyway, back to the story: They were in a (insert ethnic name here) - labeled container that was rusted shut. Very few of the marbles are actually perfectly round and or look machine made. Most are odd color combinations with large pontils. The glass compositions generally resemble older bottle glass. After conversing with buyers who are marble dealers and long-time collectors, it would appear this may have been a marble-maker's collection - and perhaps includes some of the daily cast-offs.
I have received emails from users claiming that the marbles are modern (begins with a 'J', ends in an 'o') marbles, however, I have owned the collection longer than most of the runs that are referenced. I have also measured ones that appear to be similar in color composition, and found that they are not the same size nor perfectly round, which would not be typical of modern manufacturing.
Based upon my research, this marble is nearly identical in composition, size and quality to a (blanket-y blank blank) Striped Opaque Swirl with a Diaper Fold.
The marble has an opaque base of white glass mixed with red and yellow glass, resulting in a range of peach, pink and orange swirls. There is also a wide stripe of translucent glass containing dark brown Aventurine.
There are a few small surface marks visible in the photos, and like many handmade and transitional marbles, this one has very pronounced pontil folds and is not perfectly round.
A very similar marble from a different manufacturer, Peltier, sold for $610.00 on April 8, 2017. [Ebay Item 302267041284]
Please note that the images you are viewing are in excess of 10x the actual size of the marble, and some blemishes may not be visible in hand or on display.
Monitor colors may vary.
Many of the highlights are from windows and reflections of objects in the room, and I encourage you to compare the section in question in multiple photos to determine if it is a mark, bubble, or highlight. I have labeled a few of the photos in other listings as examples of highlights that can occur. Please inquire if you have any concerns and require additional clarification.
A large number of detailed photographs have been provided in order for you to feel confident about the condition of the item, which according to a reputable site, appears to be Near Mint.
Shipping reflects regular First-class postage with insurance and tracking. Priority Mail is available at checkout and Expedited service is available upon request.

I recently began a blog with the marbles from this collection, entitled:

Please feel free to contact me for a l ink if you have difficulty finding it online.
Let's be friends. Please read the following prior to bidding:
I would be happy to answer any questions you may have and send additional photos upon request, prior to bidding. Bidding is a commitment to purchase the item.
Upon bidding, you may receive an email from me requesting that you take a moment to review the contents of the listing, including the condition, details, price and shipping cost. I cannot alter these items once the listing has received a bid.
Sellers incur fees immediately after an item is won, therefore payment must be received within 48 hours of the auction end. Unfortunately, failure to pay for the item will result in a case being opened. This is the only means sellers have to recoup their fees for an unpaid item.
I am not a volume seller and do not accept returns at this time for any reason. I do ship items with tracking and insurance to ensure they arrive safely, unless specifically noted in the listing and when prohibited by international mail services. To-date, I have never had a package lost in the mail, however, delivery can be delayed significantly when sent overseas.
All of the items in my store are from my home or personal use, and will arrive clean, carefully packaged and free from any unwelcome auction house surprises. I did not purchase the item listed above for resale, nor do I bid against you during the auction.
Every once in awhile, I completely disagree with the shipping calculator. Please contact me if you are discouraged from purchasing the item due to shipping costs. I always take the time to try to minimize the cost, whether it is to use a one-rate box or extend the shipping time at your request.
It would also be wonderful if you purchased more than one item, hint-hint, which would allow me to combine and reduce the shipping (often by 50 - 70% for the additional items!)
Items cannot be shipped until payment is received via PayPal. I generally have the item to the post office the next day, however, I state in the listings to allow up to three days to compensate for auctions that end on Friday and due to unforeseen weather conditions. Please note the shipping estimate when bidding
and contact me in advance of remitting payment if you wish to upgrade your shipping.
I truly appreciate your interest!

Good evening, I am including this response as part of the marble listing to avoid further confusion. Please feel free to publish it on the forums you mentioned.
Please note that there is a very lengthy description of how I acquired the marble collection, comparisons to similar marbles listed and sold at auction, and disclaimers with regard to purchases and the manufacture and origin of the marble.
I put a considerable amount of effort into the verbiage of the listing and the photos to enable people to make informed decisions about their purchases. I would recommend having the authenticator whom you reference look at the photos before proceeding.
I do not offer returns. I am not making any negative implications with regard to you personally as a Buyer, however, generally speaking, there is no way to guarantee that the marble would be returned in the same condition, nor that the same marble would be returned. With regard to former sales, I have never had a buyer request to return an item, and have received only positive comments with regard to the marble transactions.
I hope this addresses your concerns.
